A Luxury Retreat Nestled in Nature – Just Steps from the Daniel Boone National Forest

Escape to the heart of Kentucky’s Red River Gorge and discover the perfect balance of comfort, style, and adventure at Pinecone Trails Cabin. Tucked along the edge of the Daniel Boone National Forest, this modern, spacious retreat is designed to help you reconnect with nature—without sacrificing luxury.
An inviting, covered front porch with no stairs or steps offers a smooth and welcoming entry to the cabin. Several rocking chairs and a hand-made log bench add rustic charm—perfect for relaxing or setting down your gear after a day on the trail.
Once inside, this thoughtfully designed 4-bedroom cabin offers comfort and convenience across two levels, making it an ideal retreat for families or groups. Each of the four bedrooms features a luxurious king-size bed, providing restful accommodations for all guests.
On the main level, you’ll find two spacious bedrooms, each with its own thoughtfully designed bathroom. One of the bathrooms is accessibility-friendly, featuring well-placed grab bars and a high-end concrete and stainless steel sink by Native Trails. A richly stained decorative beam above adds a touch of rustic elegance, blending form and function in a space that welcomes guests of all ages and abilities.
The lower level includes two additional king bedrooms that share a full bathroom equipped with a shower-tub combination—perfect for soaking after a long day or for families with young children who need an easy and familiar bath time routine. The bathroom includes a private toilet area as well.
At the heart of the cabin’s main living area, you’ll find an 8-foot-long beverage bar designed with convenience and comfort in mind. Whether you’re gearing up for a morning hike or winding down in the evening, this inviting space has everything you need to enjoy your favorite drinks. The versatile coffee maker is compatible for K-Cups and also brews full pots using your favorite beans or grounds—perfect for groups or solo sippers alike. We provide guests with a generous supply of coffee and a curated box of delicious teas to help you settle in from the moment you arrive. A built-in wine-cooler fridge keeps the bottles and cans you bring of your favorite beverages perfectly chilled, making it easy to relax with a refreshing drink at any time of day.
The main covered back deck spans the length of the cabin and offers a peaceful retreat overlooking a natural cave formation and the forested valley beyond. Here, you’ll find the hot tub—perfect for unwinding after a day of hiking—and a screened-in porch that provides a quiet, comfortable space to enjoy a glass of your favorite beverage. Whether you’re sharing a meal outdoors, listening to the sounds of the forest, or enjoying long conversations into the night, this spacious deck invites you to slow down and savor every moment.
The lower deck off the walkout basement offers a peaceful setting with two hanging chairs. It’s an ideal space to curl up with a good book, sip your morning coffee, or simply sit back and take in the surrounding stillness. This shaded deck offers a cozy, tucked-away feel that complements the openness of the upper level.
Thanks to private access into the Daniel Boone National Forest, hiking adventures begin right from your backyard. After a rainfall, a small, seasonal waterfall cascades down the rock face behind the cabin, creating a tranquil soundtrack that can be heard from the deck or explored up close.
Gather around the outdoor fire pit to roast marshmallows and share stories beneath the stars.
The finished walkout basement offers a cozy and inviting space for entertainment and relaxation. Gather with friends and family in the game room, which features two stand-up arcade-style video games and a reclaimed old-world barn timber wet bar—perfect for card games, movie nights, or unwinding after a day of hiking and exploration. An impressive 85-inch TV provides a theater-like experience for streaming movies, gaming or watching your favorite college or pro team.
Tucked beneath the stairs is a thoughtfully designed sensory nook, where gentle, soothing fiber optic ceiling lights create a calming, color-changing glow. This quiet space provides a sensory environment for children and adults alike—a peaceful retreat for reading, relaxing, or simply enjoying the ambient light show.
The fully equipped kitchen at Pinecone Trails Cabin blends style and function, featuring striking granite countertops throughout—including the spacious island with seating for four. It’s a welcoming space where guests can gather for breakfast, enjoy casual snacks, or keep the chef company.
At the center of the kitchen is a double electric oven with a convenient pot-filler faucet above the stovetop, making it easy to prepare meals for a crowd. A full-size, counter-depth refrigerator offers generous storage and includes in-door ice and water. There’s also a built-in dishwasher for quick cleanup and a microwave for added convenience. Whether you’re cooking a full dinner or simply enjoying a quick snack, this granite-accented kitchen has everything you need for a comfortable and effortless stay.
The dining area offers plenty of space for everyone to gather around a single table, making shared meals and conversation easy and enjoyable. A wagon wheel-style chandelier hangs overhead, adding a rustic charm for memorable dinners, game nights, or morning coffee.
